Joanne shouts, " Ivan, Ivan quick! " and I knew instinctively "our hedgehog had returned".
The joy the two of us got from standing watching through the window at a little hedgehog eating the cat food in jelly we left out for it makes me realise - in life we complicate things. We worry and 99% of the things we worry about never happen when in reality "it's the simple things that make us happy".
"Spike" first appeared in the middle of last summer and Joanne being the woman she is decided we need to leave it food and I'm on to Google " food for hedgehogs" and I'm away to Poundland for bags of cat food in jelly.
Spike appeared every night and a month or so later brought two "baby Spikes".
As winter appeared they obviously hibernated in the hedges in the garden and then on the 1st of April Spike appeared again but unfortunately we had no food out. We put food out every night since but no sign of Spike and we were thinking he thought there's no food for me anymore.
The joy on our faces when he appeared last night was wonderful.
Such a simple thing - but such great joy. Thank God for nature.
Just wanted to share this and hopefully make someone feel good this morning when they think of something simple that made them feel good recently.

"My wife was healed from a serious cancer and a follow up blockage in her small bowel. I have come out the other side of a tough time in business by simply praying and saying, "Jesus I surrender myself to you, you take care of it".
"My little hedgehog story was just a tiny way of saying, "Isn't God good".
"I'm Church of Ireland and my wife's a Roman Catholic and we say thanks to the same God every day - and many times a day."
