Carrying Christmas into life

The theme of Rev Sam's penultimate sermon was "Carrying Christmas into Life".
Mary and Joseph had to do it...
- they had to carry on after everyone had left (carry Christmas into the home)
- they had the responsibility of bringing up a child for God (carry Christmas into bringing up children)
- they had to survive and make a living (carry Christmas into work)

The challenge for each of us is to do likewise.

As they offered gifts most rare,
gold, frankincense and myrrh,
So may we, cleansed from our sin,
lives of service now begin.

Following the Rev Sam's final service on 3rd January there will be tea and biscuits in the church hall to allow Rev Sam to talk to everyone.

Last Christmas - not the Wham version!

Rev Sam conducted his final Christmas Day Service

Dromore Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church celebrated the birth of Jesus on Christmas Morning. Always a lovely service, this year there was a little tone of sadness as Rev Sam retires in the New Year and so this was the last Christmas Service of his ministry. His final service will be on Sunday, 3rd January and no doubt the congregation will want to thank him and wish him well for the future.

Following the service there will be tea and biscuits in the church hall to allow Rev Sam to talk to everyone.

From a personal point of view, the webmaster always associates the words of the hymn, "Here I am Lord" with Rev Sam.

Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me.
I will hold Your people in my heart.

Rev Sam answered the call and has served his Master well.

Sunday School Christmas Service

Traditionally our Sunday School and Bible Class lead worship just before Christmas. Prepared by a dedicated team of Sunday School teachers and Bible Class leaders the children re-tell the Christmas Story as only children can - with innocence and charm.
At the end of the service the children received a warm round of applause and, perhaps even more important to them - a Selection Box, generously provided by the Poole family and Dromore SuperValu.
